The ZK Matthews Great Hall was abuzz with excitement as the Tiro Mpane Foundation National Choral Eisteddfod (TMFNCE) hosted its highly anticipated, the inaugural TMFNCE, Gauteng Regional Eliminations. With over 600 guests filling the hall, the event showcased the extraordinary talent and dedication of choirs from across the region.
Mohau Mogale, speaking on behalf of the TMFNCE, expressed immense pride in the high standard of performance displayed throughout the day. “The choirs brought a level of technical precision that was truly remarkable. It was clear that each group had invested significant time and effort into their preparation. What was even more inspiring was seeing smaller choirs rise to the occasion, delivering performances that not only met but exceeded expectations. The emergence of new names that completely captivated the audience is a testament to the growing diversity and depth of talent within our choral community.”
The audience’s enthusiasm and support played a crucial role in the event’s success, and TMFNCE extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended. The atmosphere was electric, with every note resonating deeply within the walls of the Great Hall, proving once again the power of music to unite and inspire.
The TMFNCE continues to set the tone for music development in the country, particularly through the introduction of new soloists who are rapidly making a name for themselves. The platform provided by the Eisteddfod offers not just a stage for competition, but a nurturing environment for emerging talent to grow and flourish. It is essential to emphasise that TMFNCE is an Eisteddfod, not a competition. While the competitive spirit is present, the primary focus is on development, education, and the celebration of choral music in its many forms.
